Professor Niane sincerely cares about teaching French, and he cares that his students learn French. No textbook; you'll be learning from handouts that he has created. He wants to make learning French accessible. Attend the weekly optional meeting if you're struggling, it'll help a lot! Not very online savvy; Canvas was a bit of a mess lol

He is a great professor for beginners! The 10 quizzes, 2 HW assignments, and 3 tests are simple. Just do the work in time, show up to class, and try your best. He does not judge you or make you feel bad if you are wrong. He can teach well, and his class is not hard at all. Sign up for his class, you will like it. There is no textbook involved!

Has a very hands-down approach to teaching french, and so you'll be guaranteed to at speak some very decent french. Great explanations. Very caring and engaging. The workload is extremely relaxed and manageable.

I am the type of person to not speak in class. He definitely makes you speak a lot in French and I was very intimated by it, but it was all worth it in the end. I actually miss his class and I would take him again if I could. If you feel like you're struggling, he acts like he doesn't notice it! All he wants to see is effort in trying! Do homework.

If you are looking to really learn French, this is the professor you must take! He genuinely wants you to learn and begins his first class asking what your expectations are. I would recommend not missing one class as his exams are based on the notes he gives you and be prepared to speak French on the first day! Highly recommend his class 🙂

This is the best professor you will ever get in French. Take him! He's very helpful and clear. His accent is the best you will hear and what he teaches is actually useful unlike other professors. He cares for his students. Guaranteed A

I recommend this professor to everyone who wants to take a language course. He is a very easy teacher and gives easy exams. The only thing I didn't like in his class was that we had to do interviews in class and it was hard for me. But above all, the professor is cool and wants you to pass.

Great teacher, knows what he's talking about, how to teach, etc. Attendance and homework are very important. Tests aren't very difficult and do not count for much of your final grade. Don't expect to do well without showing up to class and doing the assignments.

He is the best professor! He really cares about his students well-being. Easy to talk to and really wants you to succeed. I am really going to miss his class, it was always such a fun environment.

He is probably the best teacher ever!! he tells you exactly what is on every test and you only get 4 tests and the lowest grade will be dropped. he is very helpful and I defiantly recommend him

This prof was great, he was very clear and understanding. Basically told us exactly what was going to be on the test because he wants us to know it. Focuses on the grammar, and seems to know how to make the class fun. Highly recommended!!

He is kind and friendly and wants you to succeed. Does not teach everything in each chapter, but selects portions to focus on and then also tests on this material. Does not speak much French in class (modelling language), but does test speaking ability (through pre-work)dialogues. Extremly easy to do well in this class with little effort.
